How is Life Treating You?

So... My brother just asked me how I was treating life. Not how life is treating me.
Am I treating life like God created me to live it all to glorify Him?
We must ask ourselves if we are being the instruments that God has created us to be in this life.

If the devil had his way, based on all the foolishness going on around me, the pain of rejection, lost friendships, and stress should have me crazy right now. If the past six months went by without me having this revelation, I would probably be dropping out of college right now.
BUT I AM NOT!!
It seems like one day last week, between trying to meet a person halfway, and accomplishing my own goal after all my hard work, something clicked. I am finally free to be happy. Finally able to be who I am supposed to be.
You know how when you get really nervous or stressed out, and your body is leting you know; You get all sweaty, you feel like things are moving in slow motion and things  irritate you that shouldn't. You can't sleep. Well, none of this happened to me last week, when normally in certain situations it would. God has really been working on me. I'm saying that this feeling I am feeling is one that I haven't truly felt in about five years. I didn't even realize I was keeping track of time until I tried to reach back to the memory of when I felt the slightest bit of normalcy in my life.
I was 16 and having the best summer of my life. Traveling, volunteering, spending time with family and friends. It's a blessing that I'm even alive to tell me story today. Sometimes I can get through a whole day not remembering that I even had cancer, but then a commercial comes on or I will hear an offensive lyric in a rap song. Imagine what comes next.
Despite all if this, I am not afraid to tell anyone who will listen and even those who won't.  Jesus is alive and He is keeping me for a reason. We may not get it, but I've come to the conclusion that it may not be time to get it. That's the part of life that baffles us. When I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel and it feels like a cave, I remember that I am not alone and that God promised me that it was a tunnel not a cave.

Questions

How do you know if you should give something up and choose a new path?
I'm in a position where I know what the ultimate end result is and I am really really close to it, but I feel as if one more step towards it is going to drive me insane because it's not in my heart.

Why do people keep score in friendships and romantic relationships?
Seriously! Your friend saying "All those times you cried on my shoulder" makes you think twice. Are you my friend? Or am I just your basket case? You know who you are. Either you've been in the basket or you've carried it. Pick one please.

If a tree falls in forest and no one is around to hear it....
No I'm serious. I've been trying this experiment in my own life, and that should be hard considering the campus I live on, but surprisingly, I feel like I'm that tree in the empty forest. No one calls or comes by to see if you are even alive.
This goes for everyone: just because you see a person and they look ok, does not mean a thing.

Feel free to answer these questions. I would really like to know what y'all are thinking. Thanks!!

Lessons Learned

1. Just because something is not important to you, does not mean it isn't important to someone else.
People support others who are close to them regardless of how they feel towards the subject a lot of times, simply because if it matters to your loved one, it matters to them by default.

2. Love is NOT Blind.
I don't know who came up with that. It's just an excuse for people wanting remain oblivious to the truth of their situation. The way I see it: if God is Love, and God is omnipresent and omnipotent, then love must be the same. And I know for sure God ain't blind.

3. Malice and jealousy are not good looks on me.
The days I walk around campus with the slightest frown because of a bad mood, other people notice ( it's out of my character and they know something is wrong), plus I've been through enough to not even hold a grudge against anything or anybody.

4. People will take pictures. Even if you tell them not to!!!
I'm in that generation that grew up at the point where certain technologies became a prevelent part of our lives. Digital cameras, social media, and the internet are all some people know now, so I guess I should just be photo ready every time I step out of the house.

That's all I have time for right now. ttyl ☺️

The Infamous Boot!

Here it is! My infamous boot! I finally get the chance to leave it behind after almost a month of wearing it. Question is: am I ready? Can I stand on my own two feet now, or do I still need this medical boot for support as I walk across campus?
I'm sure there are many people who have something like my boot holding them back from something. It may be a friend or not wanting to make an important decision in life.
Whatever the "boot" may be, I encourage  you to see the bigger picture and claim your testimony now!

My Heart: As Is

What happens when you start praying for a pure and clean heart? Does that mean that it was really in that bad of a condition? I don't think that is always the case.
One of the biggest things that I am learning through this phase of my journey is that God is always cleansing my heart; it is because he really does know what I want and need and what my intentions are all of the time.
So when something happens and the slightest bit of malice starts to form in my heart, it doesn't stay for long because I know that's not how I want my heart to be. I guess that my heart as it is going to be constantly being kept clean by God, if that makes any sense.

Untitled

So... Today was the first day of my spring semester in college. Most of my classes were canceled due to this wacky weather we are experiencing. It's barely 10 degrees outside. I thought this was the South!!
Anyways.. I know I've been out of touch for a while, today I realized something that has really been with me all along. I realized what it really means for me to pray without ceasing.  I sat in class with my mind wanting to wander away from the lecture, but the moment I said to God, "Lord, let me focus. You know the plans you have for me and you know what my heart really desires," all of the extra things went away. Even though things are going pretty good for me right now, I have found myself just talking to God. I don't have to wait for something good or bad to happen. I just know that he's the only one who always listens and will send me the guidance I need, and never a moment too soon or too late.
