People are always asking me what I want to do with a college degree, or even what I want to do for the weekend. But today all I can truly answer with is: "I'm just trying to make it through the next hour."
I'm sure we all have moments in life when we don't want to think any further into the future than we absolutely have to. And today that's where I am. I know that if God is withe and guides me through the next hour and the next day, then he will lead me where he wants me to go in the future he has planned for me.

Really?? Huh?
Today I think I had a sort of revelation.
I really do love music.
This shouldn't have been a question since I have been studying music nearly all of my life. But today as I was spending time on YouTube looking at some new music, I came across some videos of the teen boy group Mindless Behavior. OK, well why was I watching these videos? I think I came across a comment mentioning them in one of the videos by Hi-Five that I love to watch and listen to.( by the way.... Hi-Five may not have been as popular as MB, but they must have been enough for MB to sample the song "Kissing Game")
Ok. so this was not a huge shocker to me, but it makes me think. Maybe each generation really is just repeating itself, with the trends getting more and more risque, and to my dismay, the music getting worse and worse, with only a few select artists able to put out music that really speaks, not just with a beat you can dance to, but with some music you can feel and connect with.
Now you know where the videos of Mindless Behavior led me to right?
B2K.... so a lot of the comments on the B2K videos were about Mindless Behavior. And I know I'm not the only one that compares the lead singers of both of the above mentioned groups. But I thought, why am I even comparing the two. The differences in the music of different generations is just showing us how young people are really drawn to the same things, no matter what decade they were born in. I believe that it is true that one group is imitating the other, but this is only natural, since music has been evolving all the time. The only thing that seems to have gotten left behind over the last couple of years is the message in the song. No one really takes the time to circulate the music with message. I know it exists, its just not the music we hear on the radio and see in the music videos on TV.
So... Take a chance and listen to some music that not only sounds good, but that truly speaks volumes.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK
Today I decided that I should do myself a favor and stop feeling sorry for myself. It is not something that I have done in the past and is something I have been ashamed of for the past month to admit. I am now admitting to myself and to others that I have changed. Its almost as if I have given myself the license to be in a bad mood because of the current circumstances. I accepted that I have cancer for the second time in as much as three years now. I can't change it. Nobody can. Except God.
Now all I have to do is Ask. Keep praying that he heals me. Ask that I keep being a positive influence on others, (I already have evidence that that prayer has been answered more than once), and ask that He just help me get through every day. Just survive and still stay true to who I am, and who God wants me to be.
Matthew 7:7
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

The LORD Is My Light and My Salvation
27The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came [1] upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. 4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty [2] of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. 5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. 6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; [3] I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. 8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. 9 Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. 10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up. 11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain [4] path, because of mine enemies. 12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. 13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
